To all our Haché friends and neighbours,
Last week we announced that we would be closing our restaurants for anything other than delivery or take away, in line with government recommendations. With further news of restrictions, we thought long and hard about what our decision should be regarding staying open at all, but in the end we turned to those who really mattered: our staff.
These are the guys on the front lines, the ones who should decide whether they wish to continue working or not, and when we put it to them, the answer was a resounding ‘yes’! Our decision to remain open for isn’t a financial one. But, for our staff, there are many reasons they wish to continue. From Pawal, our Shoreditch manager:
‘We’re not fulfilling a role as important as emergency services but we definitely provide service which is needed and sought after. We don’t just serve food but help people who are unable to cook or are busy with their everyday struggles. Moreover we make it seem like life finds a way, which definitely can serve as a motivator and a wonderful push for those in doubt.’
We are so proud of and impressed by our guys, but their safety is our biggest priority, which is why we have created our own Delivery and Collection Policy, setting out guidelines for the safe passage of our food from our staff to our delivery drivers to our customers. All of our team members are local to each of their branches to ensure safe travel. We have made this policy publicly available on our website, which we hope will also give you, our customers, peace of mind.
We will of course review this decision over the forthcoming weeks, but for now we would like to thank our team members for their resilience and their unwavering good spirits.
Jamie and Ed
